About the practice

A small practice that likes things tidy

Tallyhouse is a concept: a design example of how a bookkeeping practice could present itself.

How we work

Four habits that the rest of the site is built around.

  • 01

    Your file, your access

We work inside your own accounting file. You can see what we do as we do it, and you can end our access whenever you like.

  • 02

    Written scope before work starts

You get the scope in writing: what is included, what you provide and what is left out.

  • 03

One monthly summary, in plain language

A short note each month that says what was done, what changed and what we need from you.

  • 04

    Clear handover to your agent

Reports go to your registered BAS or tax agent in a form they can work from. They review and lodge.

Remote by design

Working from wherever you are

We work remotely with small businesses across Australia. Everything happens in your cloud software and in a short monthly summary, so there is no need to share an office or a filing cabinet.

No people are pictured on this site, and nobody is named, because the practice does not exist.

Boundaries

What we don’t do

The edges of the work are part of the offer. These stay with you, your registered agent or your adviser.

  • Lodge BAS or tax returns
  • Give tax or financial advice
  • Hold client money
  • Interpret awards
